Galvanized Steel - (HDG)

Hot Dipped Galvanized Steel is produced by “zinc coating” both surfaces of the cold-rolled flat steels or the hot rolled pickled flat steels using the hot-dipping method. Galvanized coating provides steel products with corrosion resistance and cathodic protection.

Main applications are for exterior building products, ductwork, HVAC products, flashing, electrical boxes and other electrical products, roofing, doors, sashes, automotive parts, appliances, commercial and residential steel framing, truss plates, metal building purlins and any other products requiring a corrosion resistant material.

Galvalume (Aluzinc) Steel (GL)

“The aluminium‐zinc (AZ) coating on steel sheet consists of nominally 55 % aluminium, 43.4% zinc and 1.6% silicon and it is applied by hot dipping in a molten bath.”

Galvalume steel has superior corrosion resistance in the most atmospheric conditions. This is achieved through the combination of the sacrificial protection of the zinc and the barrier protection of the aluminum. Galvalume Steel coating out-perform galvanized coating from 2-6 times than hot dip galvanized steel.

Galvalume Steel is widely used for ovens, electrically controlled cabinets, roofs and industrial freezers in various residential and commercial buildings and commonly used for pre-painting process.

Aluminized Steel

Aluminized Steel (Type 1) process is very similar to making galvanized, on continuous coil coating lines at steel mills.

Type 1 is steel coated with approximately 91% aluminum and 9% silicon.

There are many benefits to aluminized steel, including:

  • The strength of steel with the corrosion resistance of aluminum
  • High-temperature resistance
  • Low thermal expansion
  • Formability that allows rolling, folding, bending, and even corrugating

It is commonly used in Vehicle Exhaust, Residential Furnaces, Dryer Vents, Commercial Baking and Heat Shields.

We build dynamic, powerful and secure Steel Supply Chain for our partners on Global Stage

Steel is made from iron ore, a compound of iron, oxygen and other minerals that occurs in nature. The raw materials for steelmaking are mined and then transformed into steel using two different processes: the blast furnace/basic oxygen furnace route, and the electric arc furnace route. Both processes are being continually improved to meet the challenge of low-emission steelmaking.
